All of the food here is so fresh! The noodles were super light and homemade. For our appetizers we had the toasted ravioli and the shrimp. Both super delicious. We knew we had chosen the right restaurant for dinner. I had the baked spaghetti with meatballs and half of the veal marsala for the entree. I could go on and on about how delicious the noodles were in the pasta. Very different than most Italian restaurants I’ve been to. They were super lightweight and not dense. Some of the best pasta I’ve had in a while. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable about the specials of the day. The atmosphere inside is quite formal and there is low lightning at night. Definitely eat here if you’re craving Italian food in St. Louis. There are a ton of great Italian stops in this city but this one I can guarantee will be worth it.

Outstanding Italian. Highly recommend the lasagna as comfort food on a cold December night. Huge portion, delicate noodles, and a perfectly sweet and savory marinara...that sauce was perfect, and you can buy jars of it from the bar. Stellar service. Great atmosphere. I walked in on a Tuesday at around 7:30 as a party of 1 and had a choice of table or cute little booth that bellies up to the end of the bar. I choose the cute little booth. Not the most comfortable, but definitely the best views of the house. A 4-top came in just after me and had a slight wait. Another smaller group came in and were seated without reservations. The bar wasn't too busy. A few seats remained open the whole time I was there. Weekend reservations, I was told, is an absolute must. The tiramisu was light, airy, not too sweet, and authentically slightly boozy. If I had more than two thumbs, I'd be throwing them all up.

We were referred to Charlie Grotto’s by a friend who has dined here several times. We were grateful for the recommendation. All 4 in our party were impressed with the food and the service. It was refreshing to see the front of the house in a suit. Our server, Tim, had the perfect personality for the venue. He made outstanding recommendations and after serving customers there for 11 years - he knows.

I absolutely loved my experience here. We had a reservation, arrived a little early, and were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items and wine list. We ordered two apps, we each had our entrées, and we had dessert. Every single dish was delicious. I can't wait to go back!

Beautiful ambience with large seating. Reservation recommended. We went for our birthday celebration and loved the vibe as well as food! The server suggested great wine choices - Muscato! And the vegetarian pasta was amazing - right amount of sauce and lots of veggies! The carrot was too sweet for us - wouldn’t recommend that for a person who like their deserts to be less sweet! Otherwise the cake was great!
