We had a big group and loved the atmosphere. I tried to get a bit of it all in the photos. The food was also good. A bit of a twist on the dishes was fun. The four stars were for service. It took a long time just to get a server to take our drink orders, then a really long time to get them. We noticed other tables were getting much better service.
Dinner choice myself and business companion chose Sugar Mexican, First time visiting and wasn’t disappointed. I had the Fajitas with corn 🌽 tortillas. The salsa was outstanding . I’ve not eaten salsa like that ever. Usually it’s cold here they serve it hot and I must say it was delicious. I’ll definitely go back for another visit.
My favorite dish here is the tortilla soup. They make it amazing. Tonight, we tried the steak and it was pretty good so as the herb mixed rice it came with. We also tried the coconut tres leches but it looked and tasted more like a shortcake. The raisens in it were also pretty surprising. Nevertheless it was good. The margarita flight was also pretty good.
I tried chicken fajitas, cod and tacos. Chicken fajitas was nicely grilled, tender, juicy. Fish was tasty and arranged on spiced green salad. Taco meet was too salty in my opinion. After a main meal I recommend Churros with ice cream, absolutely delicious. Warm, crispy and served with sauces (strawberry, chocolate and whipping cream).
We had a great work dinner at Mexican Sugar. The food and service was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. I had a margarita, yuca fries, tortilla soup, and a bone in pork chop. Everything was wonderful and flavourful. The pork chop was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had it with and without the sauce, excellent both ways due to the nice cut and seasoning. The rice it came with was fantastic, and my only critique would be that some of the roasted veggies were a bit under done and firm. The tortilla soup was a similar delightful combination of flavour and texture. I'd go back next time I'm in town.
