We came to this restaurant for a friends get together. Fresh seafood food has always been this group’s favorite and surprisingly, we found an extensive variety in the menu in this place. We tried several plates and they were all in point. The seasoning is delicious and flavorful. The service was prompt, friendly, and helps create a nice atmosphere where you can have a conversation and a good time. The decore of the restaurant is simple and attractive and they made an effort to take care of every detail. We will definitely try to get back here as soon as possible.
Patio! Perla's has nice patio that overlooks Congress. Great spot for people watching. Patio has fans to help keep you cool on a hot Texas day. Food, drinks and service was fantastic and look forward to our next visit. We had a party of 11 and our server stayed on top of everything. I don't recall anyone having to ask for anything. I highly recommend you request the patio area. We got to enjoy the nice weather, people watching, birthday celebration, family as well as good food and good drinks they all made for a perfect evening.
We visited mid afternoon on Saturday after listening to the local band Rococo Disco. It's not the regular menu, but just sandwiches and appetizers. Crowded but seated quickly outside. The server seemed distracted and was not especially friendly. Other members of the staff were very friendly. The food was very tasty. We have eaten at Perla's before and continue to recommend the restaurant for its food.
The best seafood lunch spot! My dog and I sat out on the covered patio area on a slightly rainy Wednesday for lunch - there were heaters so we stayed warm and had the entire section to ourselves. Kristen was absolutely amazing - she was knowledgeable about the wine options and helped me make a great choice, made sure Rio had a bowl of water (and even refilled it!) and made sure we didn’t feel rushed. The food was incredible (seriously, the raw oysters were great!) as was the ceviche and crispy hamachi. Wonderful spot for a calm, cozy afternoon out - I will definitely be back!
We had a delightful brunch at Perlas on Sunday. We shared the fried calamari which were fresh and crispy. The pozole soup was full of fish, mussels and flavour. I would highly recommend. I'm not a sandwich order person, but the Shrimp PoBoy was excellent, crispy and hot, although the daikon slaw needed some vinegar and a bit of salt. We shared a dozen fresh oysters which were good, a bit lacking in flavour but fresh nonetheless. The cocktails were excellently prepared. What made our experience a delight was our server, Paige. She was ever attentive, knowing exactly what we needed and when. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a casual meal.
