Incredible dining experience! The cozy atmosphere was enhanced by the live jazz duo that played. In such a small space, I would have expected it to be overwhelming, but it was absolutely divine. The dishes came out quick and hot, and the server paid extra attention to dietary restrictions. The food was a delightful, palatable experience, best I have had in Dallas thusfar. If you are in Dallas, you have to stop by.

You should really just be on your way to Roots instead of taking time to read this review. This elevated version of comfort food will have your taste buds exploding! The fried chicken was so delicious, juicy, and crispy. The cornbread and biscuits lathered in butter made my heart sing. The crawfish fried rice had layers of flavor and a bit of heat. The vibe is also upscale but not in an uncomfortable, stuffy way. And the team was attentive and friendly. I can’t think of anything else I would have wanted from the experience.

Phenomenal experience from beginning to end!! Wonderful service, exquisite flavors, and perfect ambiance. Chef Tiffany's definitely created a jewel for those who know in the North Dallas territory. It's definitely a 5-star 🌟 evening.

I don’t usually believe in giving five stars on the first visit but this place is great!! Server and manager (who visited our table twice) were both engaged and well-trained. Food was delicious especially deviled eggs, gumbo and redfish were uniquely prepared and delicious. Lemon pancetta was a delicious dessert. Cocktails were delicious and strong. Nice selection of after dinner wines. Great evening. A+

I am sure you have seen Roots in every "Best of" article in local magazines etc and it LIVES UP to the hype. I'm a huge fan of chef Tiffany Derry from Food Network and Bobby's Triple Threat, and I am so happy to have her in the food scene in Dallas. The fried chicken is quite possibly the best fried chicken I have ever had: crunchy with an almost tempura batter, slightly spicy, well-marinated chicken. Very flavorful!!! We also tried several other dishes that seem to be seasonal (example Texas Peach salad). Everything was super good. On top of that, our server was excellent. My only complaint is that they didn't have any mashed potatoes, or dip/ranch/sauce that we would have loved on the side!
