We had brunch at Willa Jean during our stay for the Eras concert. We knew it had to be good, from the line out the door! The line for take out orders seemed to move quickly, and we were able to find a seat at the bar without a long wait. The servers at the bar were awesome - warm and welcoming and quick! The vibe was great - they all had bracelets and heart shaped glasses, and were joking around with each other and with customers while still maintaining an efficient service. The restaurant had festive decorations and even a photo op area with props. We noticed Taylor themed cookies in the bakery, and they were playing all Taylor music. It was a great vibe, in an already beautiful restaurant - with exposed brick walls and whisk shaped lights above the bar, so cute! The food was great - the fried chicken salad with pickled peppers and beets was awesome. Shrimp and grits and their coffee were standouts. But the star of the meal was the biscuit with butter and jam! Best biscuit I've ever had. Thank you NOLA, for the southern hospitality and fantastic food.

My boyfriend and I visited from Houston, Texas. There are so many wonderful places to eat in New Orleans, the tough part is having to choose which ones you want to visit! I did a lot of research, and Willa Jean did not disappoint. We both opted for the fried chicken biscuit in Tabasco honey. Don’t underestimate it: the fried thigh (which I could’ve sworn looked and even tasted like a breast) is quite large and filling. The warm, fluffy biscuit perfectly complements the sweet honey and the crispy, juicy chicken. I also got the s’mores hot chocolate in the mug so that I could keep it as a souvenir. Cute presentation, divine flavor. The biscuit was so good we decided to order another one on the side with butter and jam. We’re both in agreement that it’s the best biscuit we have ever up to this point. All of this goes without mentioning the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. The place is beautiful, inviting, and in a great location. Very visually appealing inside and out. This meal was so good I’m still thinking about it later.

Came to Willa Jean because I had been hearing about it. The place is nicely decorated. Had a great, cozy atmosphere. Was pretty full when we came. I ordered me the Fried chicken sandwich which was pretty yummy and the slaw on top added a nice fresh flavor. It wasn’t life changing though, since I’ve had plenty of chicken sandwiches, but still a good go to having been here for the first time. Definitely a place to try if you’re visiting or are in the area.

Wow. Best biscuit of my life anywhere, period point blank. I would come back for a biscuit alone. The service was excellent, food delicious. Don’t skip the crispy zucchini. My dining companion also asked for a vegetarian swap and they didn’t upcharge for swapping in avocado for meat. Most places would! Absolutely a must if you’re visiting. The place was packed for a Wednesday lunch too.

We have been coming here for years and the food, service, and atmosphere is always phenomenal! The menu changes every so often so check before you go if you want something you’ve had before. The green bowl had black eyed peas this time which differed from previous bowls. My mom said it was still great, just different. Egg comes poached, but my mom changed it to fried. This one doesn’t come with chili oil like previous bowls. The shrimp and grits were delicious! There is a nice kick that I appreciated, but it did initially come at a surprise. After some water, I was ready to devour the rest. I switched the eggs to scrambled. It also comes poached. I added a biscuit which is always the best! I can’t come here and not get a biscuit! Not pictured is the cookies and milk, and other cookies. The cookies and milk or just chocolate chip cookies, some cookie dough, and vanilla milk. Their Bruto cookie is a new version of the old espresso cookie. This time it’s made with dark chocolate. It was so soft and will be a new favorite! Highly recommend Willa Jean to anyone in town!
